Creating a cookbook file and ordering a printed book are separate steps. This guide describes MenuTome’s Windows recipe-to-PDF workflow and Blurb’s documented PDF-to-book route as one printing example. It does not compare them as substitutes.
Scope of this guide
The MenuTome facts concern file creation. The Blurb facts concern its cited PDF-to-book printing route, not every print service or every Blurb product. These are complementary project steps; no feature, price or performance ranking is made.
Blurb: one example of a PDF-to-book route
Blurb documents a PDF-to-book printing route and provides its own file specifications.

MenuTome for Windows: recipes into book files
The recipe editor has separate fields for title, servings, ingredients and preparation steps. The book layout processes chapters containing recipe entries. PDF export distinguishes the interior from the cover and uses the chosen format for sheet dimensions.
Print export depends on the book’s export rights; page limits can also apply. Check the applicable plan and inspect the exported pages. This is a description of the workflow, not a guarantee of acceptance by a printer.
Choose the print destination before finalising the file
Use your chosen printer’s specifications as a checklist before finalising the file. Blurb publishes its own specifications. A MenuTome KDP export is not promised to work with Blurb unchanged; check the required interior and cover dimensions separately.
- Which trim size and binding do you actually want?
- Which interior and cover dimensions does that product require?
- Have you inspected your final pages before ordering a physical copy?
The MenuTome feature described here is PDF file creation. It is not a physical-print order, and this page does not include a print-service price, delivery estimate or publishing-service promise.
Check a small sample before printing
Create a sample with one short recipe, one long recipe and a photo you have permission to use. Make a correction and inspect the complete PDF at readable size. Before ordering, check the file against your chosen printer’s current specifications.
